Thread:Talk:LiquidThreads testing/"Link to this"

In the popup thingy on the right-hand column there is an image of a chain that allows me to link to the specific discussion. When I click on this icon it takes me to a new page with just that thread and a stable URL for it. I was wondering whether it is possible to just be given the URL in a little popup that is generated, rather than having to reload a whole page (kind of like the way bit.ly does it)?
